Nilsson Johan Vintage Silverplate Sugar Tongs crafted in Sweden. Elegantly designed small tongs for serving sugar during formal tea. Also known as sugar nippers or tea tongs the versatile tongs were also used for pickles, small candy, hors d'ouevres, cocktail garnishes, pastries, and fruit. Refined dining etiquette in Victorian and Edwardian eras for serving shared items. Fashioned in Art Nouveau style with detailed pattern of flowers and scrolls with a lighter interior scroll pattern. Pattern N1J4 discontinued production dates 1900 - 1940. Quality EXTRA PR.NS.ALP. glossy silverplate with dimensional detailing. Light vintage use wear.
